BIOROB

In the last two centuries, robots have played an active role in the study of animal behavior and physiology. They have often been used to build scientific models of animal behaviour and to interact with animals for scientific purposes.

Robots allow one to influence animals’ behavior in repeatable and controllable ways. This is almost impossible to do without the use of robots. This helps scientific research, insofar as it offers one more tool to test our hypotheses on the biology and ethology of other living beings, humans in the first place.

#BIOROB was born to tell people how robots can help us investigate the colorful world of animals. In the following articles, you will find curious questions, basic research, and robotic animals.
